About Us

Center for Electoral Studies at University of Warsaw was established with the aim of promoting and integrating research on electoral systems and political behaviour.

Our current activities consist of research, education, and academic collaboration. The Center for Electoral Studies promotes and coordinates research projects on electoral systems and political behavior, fostering a deeper understanding of electoral processes. We also engage in educational initiatives, offering workshops and seminars to enhance knowledge in the field of electoral studies. Additionally, we actively collaborate with national and international academic institutions to drive innovation and share best practices in electoral research.

Research

The Center for Electoral Studies conducts research on electoral systems and political behaviour. It coordinates research projects related to elections, actively engages in securing grants for electoral studies and collects reliable electoral data crucial for further use in electoral studies.

The Center also organizes workshops and seminars, providing a platform for the regular exchange of experiences and ideas among researchers specializing in electoral studies.

Additionally, we are committed to disseminating reliable knowledge about electoral processes, supporting the development of new research tools, and conducting electoral data analysis.

Education

The Center plans to develop an educational offering that will enable students to deepen their knowledge of electoral systems and political behavior.

In the 2024/25 academic year, the Faculty of Sociology at the University of Warsaw will launch a research seminar dedicated to the analysis of elections held in Poland in 2023-2024.

Outreach activities, such as open lectures, publications, and workshops, will aim not only to raise public awareness about the importance of elections for the proper functioning of representative democracy.

Cooperation

Our Center collaborates with other research institutes and centers, both domestic and international.

Such partnerships not only enrich the Center's research and educational activities but also enable the exchange of experiences and best practices in the field of electoral research, which is crucial for understanding electoral processes in a democracy.
